A move to Tulsa delayed Julie’s career in broadcasting, but started her career in motherhood. She has two children, Aubrey and Cameron. As a young wife and mother, she decided to invest in the lives of children anyway she could. She supplemented the family income by teaching kid’s arts and crafts and hosting children’s birthday parties. In 1990, she dusted off her journalism skills and wrote a pre-teen curriculum, Babysitting 101.
After six years, she had single-handedly taught thousands of children babysitting skills. Julie founded Production 101, Inc., a television production company. This provided the means to “clone” Julie’s teaching, allowing her to educate through videotape. Her vision is simple: teach kids how to be successful in life. In addition to Babysitting 101, she has written and produced SafeKids 101 and PoliteKids 101, Business 101 and Healthy Habits 101 .
She has added syndicated columnist to her long list of accomplishments. The Virtual Mom is read in newspapers across America. Julie communicates with great energy, passion, humor, warmth, and grace. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband, children and a miniature dachshund named Gretta.
